Congratulations to
the 2011 IWGA Players of the Year!

Again for the second year in a row, the IWGA names three of the most
deserving and talented amateur players in Iowa as their players of the
year. The winners have set the bar high for future IWGA Players of the
Year.
Iowa State golfer Kristin Paulson's first place finish, for a second year in
a row, at the Iowa Women's Amateur put her to the top of list of woman
amateur golfers in Iowa. Paulson finished 14-under par at this year's
Amateur to defend her title and break the record for the lowest finish in
Iowa Women's Amateur history!
Paulson qualified for U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links for the third year
in a row and then to secure her spot as the 2011 IWGA Player of the Year,
she and her partner, Beth Wagner took home the IWGA Four-Ball trophy
finishing 9-under par.
Janece Schwartzkopf dominated the senior amateur scene in Iowa this year.
Schwartzkopf kept her eye on the prize during the Iowa Senior Women's
Amateur title this year as she finished on top by four strokes and with the
help of her partner in the IWGA Four-Ball, took the first ever Senior
Division title.
Schwartzkopf finished first in the third flight at this year's Iowa Women's
Amateur and tied for 34th out of the field of 80. Janece's top finishes at
several women's amateur championships has led her up to this very deserving
award.
It
comes as no surprise that Allison Rolinger of Cedar Falls should claim the
IWGA Junior Player of the Year for 2011. Starting off the season finishing
fourth individually at the 4A State Golf Tournament and won the ISPGA Junior
Tour Classic at Fort Dodge Country Club. Rolinger finished tied for third
at the IWGA Junior Girls' Championship. Allison had six top 10 finishes in
Iowa Section PGA Junior Tour Events.
Finishing first at the first Junior Tour Team and Stroke Play Event and
finishing second at the Iowa PGA Junior Championship gave Allison that extra
boost to bring home the Junior Player of the Year.
Congratulations to our 2011 Players of the Year!
