IWGA DISTRICT & STATE TEAM PLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Each district schedules a District Team
Play Championship and coordinates the scheduling of events within the
district. IWGA member clubs
may send a team of 4 players to the District Team Play
Championship. The 3 best scores of the 4 players will count to
determine the winners of both the regular and net divisions.
Teams entered in the District Team Play Championship are automatically
entered in both divisions. If a team wins both divisions, they
will represent the district in the regular division and the second
play team will represent the district in the net division at the State
Team Play Championship. The winning teams must declare whether
or not they will go to the State Team Championship on the day of their
district meet. Winners of the district meets must have a minimum
of three players of the team competing at the State Team Championship.
If this is not possible, the runner-up team will be invited to
participate.
An individual that is a member of more than one club must declare at the beginning of the season which club she is going to represent in team play. Team members must be 18 years of age or older and maintain a residence in the state of Iowa. Member clubs may establish their own rules for choosing members of their team to participate. Team play participants must have an established USGA approved 18 hole handicap, using Equitable Stroke Control, to participate.
