This year the Iowa Women's Golf Association will award $1500
scholarships to Iowa high school senior girls who intend to
further their education at an Iowa institution of higher
learning, whether a college, university or trade school.
2010 Application
THESE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE OPEN TO:
-Girls of excellent character
-Girls who meet entrance requirements at any accredited higher
learning institute in the state of Iowa
-Girls who have participated in at least one golfing event,
including the IWGA Junior Girl’s Championship, the IWGA Women’s
State Amateur Championship, or a local city or high school
golfing event
-Girls who accurately and completely fill out the application
form
SCHOLARSHIP RULES:
-All Iowa high school girls are eligible to apply
-All applicants must be intending to graduate from high school
in the year of application (this could be either spring
graduation or graduation at half year)
-Applicant must meet entrance requirements and plan to enroll at
any accredited state or private school in Iowa
-This award is made for the freshman year of college only and
does not repeat as new winners will be selected each spring from
among the applicants of that year
-If winners do not attend college in the fall following high
school graduation, an alternate candidate will be selected
-If winners do not attend an accredited state or private school
in the state of Iowa , an alternate candidate will be selected
-The $1,500 scholarships will be paid to the registrar of the
university or college ($750 will be paid for college expenses at
the beginning of the fall and spring semester or term)
-Announcements of the scholarship winners will be made at the
time of the IWGA Junior Girl's Championship in June of each year
-Incomplete or late applications will not be considered

APPLICATION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY:
-A recent billfold size photo
-Statement of at least 50 words on what the game of golf has
meant to you
-A list of all school activities, athletic involvement,
community or church activities, and employment history
-High school transcripts (may accompany your application or be
sent by your high school)
-Summary of high school golf participation (form to be filled
out by your golf coach)
-Two letters of recommendation (other than your golf coach) may
be sent directly to the Scholarship Chairman at the IWGA Office
-Any additional information you would like to include to assist
the Scholarship Committee with their selections
Applications are sent out after the first of the year to all
high school girl's golf coaches in the state of Iowa.
Applications will be accepted until February 20th. Send
